Richard was born and raised in Glasgow and has a variety of public service work experience including spells in Social Security, National Savings, the Health Service Commissioner’s Office, staff welfare work and personnel management in HM Customs & Excise. He moved to Flitwick almost 20 years ago.
After retiring he became involved in local matters, becoming a Magistrate in Bedford, being elected to Flitwick Town Council and joining the local surgery’s Patient Participation Group. He remains very interested in health matters and looks forward to Central Beds Council’s greater involvement in joined-up health and social care services . The need for good rural transport links, and for step-free access across the network, are two of Richard's particular interests.
