Emma Matanle has been selected to represent South-West Bedfordshire.

Emma started out working in international affairs research at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, in London, before moving on to work for the United Nations in Afghanistan. Here she worked for a UN Agency responsible for urban rehabilitation.

In balancing family life, Emma has worked in communications and publications, for a wide range of organisations, including BBC World News. Her love of politics and strong belief in liberal values underlies her robust campaigning with strong community values. She has been a relentless campaigner to stop the cuts in funding to schools, by working with the Fair Funding for All Schools Campaign. Daniel Norton is standing in North East Bedfordshire.

Daniel Norton is one of Bedfordshire's leading campaigners against Brexit. He led the campaign that elected two Lib Dem MEPs for the East of England this May, and delivered their best ever results in our area - way ahead of both Labour and the Conservatives.
Daniel said: "the Lib Dems have been gaining support from people who are concerned about the direction Brexit is taking our country, from both the Labour and Conservative parties. In North East Bedfordshire the Lib Dems are the clear choice for anyone who wants to stop Boris Johnson's rushed Brexit and the damage it is inflicting on our communities.
"The Lib Dems are clear - the best deal we will get is the one we already have as a full member of the EU. We want Johnson's deal to be put to the people in a new referendum, where the Lib Dems will campaign to remain in the EU."
Daniel has lived in the village of Stevington in North East Bedfordshire for 15 years. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling with a local club, especially around the surprisingly hilly lanes of North East Bedfordshire.
Daniel has campaigned to tackle the climate emergency since before it was cool! His first campaign was supporting a wind farm against vocal opposition in North East Bedfordshire in 2010.
He demands better for rural communities in North East Bedfordshire, campaigning against the downgrade of rail services in the constituency, to control speeding in local villages and working with Liberal Democrat councillors in the constituency to deliver improved facilities in local schools.
