Lib Dem membership jumps 14% in Central Beds
The Lib Dems made headlines and topped opinion polls in May, and since then the #LibDemSurge has continued with a series of good showings as people respond to our clear message on Brexit nationally and the high quality of our local councillors across the country.
Since the local elections on 2 May, over 11,000 new members have joined the Lib Dems across the UK, including a 14% rise here in Central Beds!

Lib Dems triple their numbers on C Beds Council
Here in Central Bedfordshire we were delighted that voters responded warmly to our campaign by electing three councillors to our local council.
Susan Goodchild and Yvonne Farrell were returned for Houghton Regis, and in Linslade, former councillor Peter Snelling topped polls bringing our total to three, better than expected!
Voters clearly agreed with our priorities for Central Bedfordshire (you can see our manifesto here) and to our call to clip the wings of the dominant Tories, who managed to cling on to control of the council chamber but will now face some real scrutiny from the hardworking Lib Dem team in opposition.
Thanks to everyone who supported us!
